2025: AI?
Working on AI like a servicedesk needs it
Currently I’m leading a small team with the focus on implementing AI into an IT servicedesk. But in what way?
H2 2024 – Q1 2025: AutoTask
After years of our own system, we’ve switched to AutoTask
I played a key role in the successful implementation of Autotask Service Desk and its integration with ITGlue and Datto. Leading the project, I coordinated with vendors to ensure seamless integration and organized training sessions for our team.
As part of a dedicated team of four, I was responsible for migrating all existing data, including invoices and projects. Despite challenges like compatibility issues and complex data migration, our effective problem-solving and collaboration ensured a smooth transition.
The result was a significant improvement in our IT management processes, with streamlined workflows and enhanced efficiency. The integration provided real-time monitoring and centralized documentation, greatly benefiting our team.
December 2024: VCare
I have achieved the VCare Technical certifcate
Because our switch from broadsoft to VCare, I have achieved a certificate for platform management from VCare.
October 2024: KPN Supervision Certificate
I have achieved a certificate from KPN for Supervision
Because the growing number of settings and policies we’re able to set within Microsoft 365. Techni Team has decided to use KPN supervision to manage these settings. To be able be “Supervision Enabled” I needed to get this certificate.
H1 2024: Datto and ITGlue
The switch to Datto RMM and ITGlue
Our team successfully implemented Datto RMM and ITGlue to enhance IT management and documentation processes. After identifying the need for improved systems, thorough research led to the selection of these solutions. The project involved coordinating with vendors and organizing training sessions to ensure smooth integration.
Despite challenges like compatibility issues and complex data migration, effective problem-solving and collaboration ensured a seamless transition. The result was a significant boost in efficiency and productivity, with real-time monitoring and centralized documentation streamlining workflows.
November 2023: Manager Servicedesk
After six year I have become the Manager Servicedesk for
Techni Team
Giving the size of the organization (40/45), I will still be functioning within a couple of different functions. Such as BI Consultant, BI Architect and Procesarchitect. But now at 23 years old, I will be able to call myself Manager Servicedesk
October 2023: Starting my own business
I have finally started my own business and its named WeerIT
Because my ambition to learn more about running, maintaining a growing a business. I have decided to start one of my own. With WeerIT I focus on hosting websites, supporting the development of websites and delivering other IT-Services.
January 2023: BI Consultancy
With the Techni Team I became the first BI Consultant
Because we saw the need for our current customers to be able to rely on our experience with data, ETL, data visualization, etc. Because of this we started a new proposition in BI consultancy.
October 2022: Accra – Ghana
I went to Accra Ghana to give a group of young Africans a Customer Service Masterclass
This training revolved about a couple of different perspectives, such as: the customer, the support agent, the manager and also combining all of them in a practical day.
January 2022: A new (old) challenge
Becoming team leader support again
As a part of a reorganization within the customer service department of Techni Team, there was need for a third team leader. I became this team leader, together with my returning responsibilities such as: process improvement, business intelligence architect and management consultancy.
This was only a temporary step in making the support department more efficient and empowering the engineers to make decisions at the lowest levels.
December 2021: BI-Architect
Working with data as a BI-Architect
As a part of the continuous improvement of Techni Team, we decided that business intelligence (BI) was a logical continuation. With my previously attained knowledge in BI, I was the person to start designing, planning and building a BI platform for Techni Team to use. This were to include extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) the source data, designing and building dashboard, implementing these dashboard and everything in between.
July 2021: Project lead
For our biggest customer I became project leader to migrate them to a new server platform
From July onward it was my responsibility to lead the project for our biggest customer to migrate them to a new windows server environment. In this case its about 200 users and 12 different virtual servers to house all their applications and services. With a team of 4 (myself and 3 others) we did the building, testing and data migrating to make sure that the definitive date of November 2021 could be reached.
We were able to reach the goal of migrating the complete environment in November 2021.
Januari 2021: Internal Advisor
Implementing
process design and general improvements
From January 2021 onwards, I started process designing and improvement for the servicedesk. The processes that were being used within the servicedesk were implicit processes/tactic knowledge. These processes needed to be standardized and implemented within the servicedesk. Using the LEAN six sigma method, I reduced waste within these processes and started a standard way of working and documenting.
September 2019: Starting University
Started a bachlor in Business- IT and Management
Just a couple months ago I graduated college and got my degree. So now without waiting I started a bachlor in Business- IT and Management at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
July 2019: Graduating College
Graduated Expert IT Systems and Devices
After 3 years I graduated with a degree in IT Systems and Devices. Now I get the opportunity to further my education and work experience with all the knowledge I obtained over the years.
March 2019 – Team leader Support
Becoming a team leader for the support department
After just working with the company for about 2 years, there was a reorganization within the support department.
From this moment onward we would have 3 teams, each with the individual team members and team leaders. And I was one of these team leaders.
Within this role it was my responsibility that the daily operation of this part of the support department, was all taken care of. Whilst my 2 colleagues where to do that for their team as well.
February 2018: Support Engineer
I get the opportunity to work with Techni Team as a part-time support engineer
After my internship with the company, they offered me a part-time position as a support engineer. This was going to be the hours I had after school, and also everything I would be able to do on Saturdays.
August 2017: Internship Techni Team
My first internship in IT at Techni Team
My first and only internship I did, was with Techni Team. Within the next half year I came in contact with many different principles within IT, working full time and everything I came to love about the line of work and the company itself.
In retrospective, this was the stepping stone for my future career. Not only did I come to love the company in this period, but I also came to love everything there is about business.
September 2016: Starting College
